Kitesurfing and beach volleyball in Lagos (Portugal) is the perfect mix to cover all weather conditions.
- Beach volleyball – Beach volleyball can be practiced all year round in Lagos, on the longest beach in Algarve, MEIA PRAIA, we have two volleyball courts with all the necessary markings and a standard net. In summer, the best time for beach volleyball is 8:00 – 14:00, at this time it is most often not windy.
Local players play only on weekends and national holidays, if you wish, you can join the game with locals, they play in groups and in pairs and there are different levels so that it would not be boring.

2. Kitesurf Lagos – for kitesurfing the best time of the year is April – October, rest of the time is olso possible kitesurf, but wind is not very predictible. For normally wind is picking up afternoon from 14:00 till 20:00
The best place for kitesurfing in Algarve is – lagoon of Lagos (Rio Alvor), off cource you can kite also in the ocean, but wind direction most of the time is Off Shore.
In lagoon is couple places for teaching and riding, with easy acces area is more busy.
The best place for learning is the one that can only be reached by motorboat, in the middle of the lagoon there are small sandy islands and sand banks, such places are best for learning and riding.

I had done the beginner course somewhere else and wanted to close the gap to kiting on my own. My goal was to start in both directions and ride upwind. By phone I could easily book 2 hours for this. These could also be postponed due to the weak wind until everything fit.The instructor asked me about my skills and let me do everything myself as far as possible.He always helped me when he saw that I was getting nowhere or doing something technically wrong. The long sandbar with knee to hip deep water provided safety for trying things out and learning on my own. There was also a boat ready if I fell in the deeper water and drifted too far.I could kite the newest Core material.I can recommend the school with its team and will come back 👍🏻
